as the summer wraps up and the weather gets a bit chilly i’ve found myself wanting to break out the blankets, light a fire in the fire place to drink whisky by, and break out some warm tunes. this mix draws upon the likes of: cass mccombs, distractions, jackson browne, jon moses, lake, mazzy star, mount eerie, popol vuh, the rolling stones, trouble books, twinsistermoon, whole voyald infinite light, and zola jesus; most of what i’ve found myself listening to in the past couple of months - subliminally prepping myself for the cooler months. of course with a few old standbys thrown into the mix for good comfort. hopefully this will mellow you out and leave you with the somber feeling it intends to.

we’ll keep this one vague. no underlying meaning. no titles/artists, unless you ask.
my friend cory and i talked about making mixes like this and not giving the artists/song titles so you have to listen to things for what they are and you have no preconceived notions. like i said, i’ll tell you anything you want to know - just ask. i wasn’t sure how i felt about it this morning but it dawned on me, it’s a pretty good way to listen to “new” music.

this is my first “mix/pod/cast/tape.” it took a lot longer than i figured it would to create, but i hope you enjoy it. i will be doing many more of these in the coming months/weeks. i figured, “why not start doing this?” because i often find myself downloading several at work to listen to through out the day. let me know if it doesn’t work, or needs a re-up or anything. i’m not quite familiar with media fire, though it seems to be many people’s choice for sending files.
quickly:
anyhow, to me, this mix is a collection of songs that contain a feeling that can see the summer come to an end while it’s not quite fall. it starts off fast, mellows out in the middle and comes to a slow finish. enjoy.
